Main tasks and responsabilities:
- Lead the design and development of radar systems for space applications, including system architecture, hardware, and firmware software components;
- Conduct trade-off studies to evaluate different design options and optimize system performance;
- Oversee the integration of radar systems with spacecraft, ensuring compatibility with other subsystems;
- Develop and execute test plans for laboratory, ground, and space-based testing;
- Analyze test data to validate system performance and identify areas for improvement;
- Oversee and support units qualifications according to the most relevant applicable space standards;
- Stay current with advancements in radar technology and space systems;
- Propose and pursue innovative solutions to enhance the performance and capabilities of radar systems;
- Contribute to the development of new products and services in the radar and space domain.
Specific Skills:
- Strong knowledge of radar and telecom hardware components, including antennas, transmitters, receivers, and digital signal processors;
- Experience with simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink) and CAD software;
- ESA ECSS and/or MIL standards knowledge;
- Familiarity with space environment constraints and requirements;
- Proficiency in radar signal processing and algorithm development.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Communication Engineering, Physics, or a related field (PhD preferred);
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in radar system design and development, preferably for space applications;
- Experience with radar signal processing, RF and microwave engineering, and system integration for space; Proven track record of leading engineering projects from concept to deployment.
