Powerplant Engineer

Mission

  • Within the engineering department, you will be active as a powerplant engineer in a variety of CAMO activities together with your colleagues;
  • You will be responsible for the implementation of the continued airworthiness management tasks related to engines and APU’s;
  • You will follow-up engines and APU’s shop visits by negotiating workscopes resulting in an optimized work scope regarding cost, downtime and return conditions;
  • You will perform each task taken into account the best possible cost-effective solution;
  • With time, you will be active as a member of Group Engine Management (GEM) within the Lufthansa Group.

Tasks

  • You will work in a team and will be responsible for your assigned aircraft ATA chapters;
  • You will study mandatory requirements (e.g. Airworthiness Directives) and follow-up the implementation to ensure the continued airworthiness management of our fleet;
  • You will analyse all incoming OEM data (e.g. Service Bulletins, CMM’s, AOT’s, OIT’s, …) and you will make recommendations & instructions for cost-effective implementation;
  • You will be in contact with aircraft manufacturer, OEM’s and MRO’s;
  • You will be in contact with other Lufthansa group airlines engineers to exchange best practices;
  • You will follow-up engines and APU shop visits; issue workscopes, follow up findings from repair shops, discuss most cost-effective solutions and review invoices;
  • Coordinate preventive actions and use of means in order to keep the engines and APU’s of the fleet on wing as long as possible, by negotiating and optimizing workscopes regarding cost, downtime and return conditions of the engines;
  • Analyse findings or maintenance inspections and advise preventive actions to improve engine and APU reliability, your solutions will reduce the base maintenance cost and production manhours by avoiding repetitive findings;
  • Identify and investigate engine related components for repetitive failure rates and low reliability, propose corrective actions;
  • Analyse and support projects and creation of business cases;
  • Your input in engine contract negotiations will have an added value as specialist in this area;
  • Identify, develop and lead improvement projects;
  • You will represent Brussels Airlines within the Lufthansa Group (Group Engine Management) while working on topics and projects within your domain;
  • You will be enrolled in the AOG service to provide the P145 with 24/7 support.

Your profile

  • Minimum bachelor degree in Aeronautics engineering;
  • You are highly interested in aviation;
  • You are strong in analysing problems and critical in studies;
  • You can manage problems and projects in an orderly manner;
  • You work accurate and thorough, are well-organized and like to create order and structure;
  • You can work under stress and show the necessary flexibility;
  • You can perform administrative work & follow up in a structured way;
  • You have good communication skills in English (Dutch and French is an advantage);
  • You have knowledge of MS office (Knowledge of MRO software AMOS is a benefit);
  • You are pro-active and have open attitude;
  • You are a team player;
  • You are willing to travel abroad.
