Experienced Aerospace Structural Analysis Engineer and Developer

Position Responsibilities:

  • The candidate will focus primarily on supporting Boeing Research & Technology on the development of Advanced Calculation Methods for isotropic and orthotropic materials using analytical and numerical methods as well as advanced part design including stress analysis and optimization
  • Perform research with respect to material modelling isotropic and orthotropic materials using analytical methods and numerical software programs
  • Qualification, verification and validation of new developed material and failure models as well as part designs
  • Support in test campaign to determine material values and allowable in 3 directions for all kind of aerospace materials as well as certification testing based on building-block approach
  • Sizing of aerospace parts with a combination of linear and non-linear methods in the framework of aerospace certification by supporting tests with simulation
  • Communication between design, production and testing in integrated vehicle systems teams
  • Programming, verification and validation of advanced material models in finite element software

 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • A very good understanding of aerospace engineering.
  • Masters or higher or equivalent in aerospace engineering or related field of study.
  • 5+ years of experience in either Python and MATLAB or C/C++/C#.
  • Very good experience in Abaqus.
  • Very good English speaking and writing skills are essential.
  • Fluent in German.
  • Existing rights to work in Germany.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • A cross the discipline thinking.
  • Good experience in CATIA V5.
  • A very solid understanding of structural engineering and material modelling.

 

Typical Education and Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in aerospace engineering (e.g. Master) and typically 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD)
