What you will do:
- Troubleshoot and problem solve issues related to Woodward Large Engine Valves and Actuators in manufacturing, supply chain and field installations
- Implement product design and process improvements. May implement changes to improve product margins
- Perform work which involves the use of conventional engineering practices and tools
- Investigate products issues and documents findings in report format
- Analyze simple components without supervision. Hydraulic, pneumatic, stress analyses are typically performed
- Writes and performs component tests
- Dispositions hardware
What you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering field required
- Greater than 4 years experience in electro-mechanical product responsibility
- Great skills in problem solving and troubleshooting
- Ability to effectively operate in the project team environment and communicate with customers. May direct or lead work of technicians, detailers, design and project engineers
- Ability to understand and interpret industry and Woodward technical standards including quality system standards and PLC processes
- Basic use and understanding of analysis tools, such as FEA. Basic knowledge of Engineering quality systems (PLC, engineering change, configuration management)
- Understanding of component function and testing. Learning manufacturing processes, drawings and geometric dimensioning and tolerances as well as shop standards and procedures
- Experience with production transfers between sites will be a plus
