Junior Structural Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be capable of the following:

• Promote teamwork and effective communications to develop working relationships with all personnel and departments;
• Analyse and develop of structural aspects of the car using Finite Element Analysis (both linear and non-linear), Structural Optimization (topological, shape, composite laminate, etc.) and hand-calculations;
• Analysis and numerical development of composite metallic parts and assemblies;
• Development parts with minimum weight, appropriate reliability and safety, reaching at the same time the required performance targets;
• Correlation of experimental data with FE results sometimes requiring scripting and programming;
• Effectively communicate to develop working relationships with colleagues in Structures group;
• Follow guidance and methods for development of components;
• Follow all safety regulations in all venues;
• Other duties as assigned by the Manager.

Education and work experience:

• Must be graduate in Aeronautical, automotive, mechanical, marine or any other relevant engineering discipline;
• Internship or equivalent experience in a structures group performing components analysis or experience in Formula Student or equivalent projects;
• Must be able to communicate clearly, work under pressure, be self-motivation, ready to learn and contribute with the team.

Software experience (Desirable):

• HyperWorks/Hypermesh/Optistruct;
• Abaqus;
• Laminate tools or similar;
• CAD System: Catia V6 (just basic function);
• Excel/Matlab/Python.
