What you will do
- Your mission as a device Integration engineer will be to provide simulation guidance for optimizing active and passive photonic devices in our manufacturing flow. This would include exploring device corners and design for manufacturability (DFM). You will work with the photonics device team to define test structures and process monitors to link the yield and performance of the process technology to that of the silicon photonics products.
- As member of the photonics integration team, you are responsible for a streamlined project execution by interacting with your colleague integration engineers and process assistants but also with the device design, characterization, process development, metrology and defectivity engineers. This would include contributing to yield and performance optimization and defining DFM strategies.
- You will follow-up on the processing of test material, collect and analyze performance data and regularly feedback this data to the device models. You will report results both internally as well as to customers.
- You should keep your level of scientific know-how up to date and benchmarks imec’s expertise and performance in your competence domain with the rest of the world.
- You will operate from imec’s HQ located close to Brussels in the heart of Europe.
Who you are
- You have obtained a PhD or Master degree, preferably combined with some relevant industrial experience (semiconductor device engineering, or silicon photonics).
- 2+ years of experience in semiconductor integration, device integration or silicon photonics.
- Experience with TCAD such as Sentaurus and/or Lumerical.
- Experience with device layout
- Proficient in Python
- You are an enthusiastic team player with project management capabilities. You can complete your tasks in time with minimal supervision.
- You have good English communication skills.
