Key Responsibilities
- Maintain an accurate inventory of software assets.
- Track software usage and ensure compliance with licensing agreements.
- Manage software licenses, renewals, and agreements.
- Develop and implement SAM policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Compliance and Risk Management:
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with software licensing terms.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with software non-compliance.
- Prepare for and manage external software audits.
- Cost Optimization:
- Analyze software usage to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Recommend software procurement strategies to optimize costs.
- Negotiate software licensing terms with vendors.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Generate reports on software usage, compliance, and cost savings.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
- Present findings to senior management and stakeholders.
- Collaboration and Support:
- Work with IT, procurement, and legal teams to manage software assets.
- Provide guidance and training to staff on software usage and compliance.
- Stay updated on industry trends, licensing changes, and new software solutions.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field
Experience:
- 4-6 years of experience in software asset management, IT asset management, or a related field.
- Experience with SAM tools such as Flexera, Snow Software, ServiceNow, etc.
- Experience on Microsoft, Oracle, Red Hat, VMware software product licensing.
