Your crew during this flight:
The Mechanical Engineering team is a a highly motivated, multi-disciplinary team. You will be part of our Airframe team which is part of our Mechanical Engineering Department. Together, you will design state-of-the-art composite structure, plastics, and/or metal components of the Volocity that are key to its best-in-class performance.
Your mission during this flight:
- You conduct technical research and evaluate design concepts
- You align on interfaces to other systems including future updates
- You perform detailed design of structural concepts according to requirements (e.g. lightweight, manufacturability, cost efficiency, maintainability)
- You collaborate with relevant disciplines (e.g. Stress, Production, Procurement, Integration, etc.)
- You create prototyping and design data
- You evaluate prototypes and manufacturing data
- You document all design decisions and descriptions
- You specify the component design through CAD models, drawings and instructions
- You interact with suppliers and support with any manufacturing issues
- You provide the relevant documentation trough the engineering gates (PDR, CDR, TRR, etc.)
- You ensure quality in our design, generate design assessments, and if needed and participate root cause assessments
- You improve the existing structural components
